Rule Sets

Rule Sets are enabled for all Cash Management customers. Rule Sets facilitate the automatic settlement of funds moving into or out of your CoBank loans and investments equal to the net daily activity clearing your Transaction Clearing account(s).

1. View Rule Sets

From the Home page, click on the Account Management option on the main Menu. The Account History page will be displayed:

Click on Rule Sets on the submenu. The Rule Sets screen will be displayed:

Select the CIF/CIF name from the drop down and click on 'View' button.

The list of rule sets will displayed. To view the specific rule set, click on the magnify glass icon at the right side under the action column.

Move Funds To CoBank: This section dictates how funds will be automatically applied as a paydown/deposit to your CoBank relationship(s) when excess funds are available from the Cash Management daily settlement.

Move Funds From CoBank. This section dictates how funds will be automatically advanced/withdrawn from your CoBank relationship(s) when funds are due to satisfy the Cash Management daily settlement.

  1. Investline Overnight (or AIM investment). If the available balance is $0, funds will be advanced from account #2.
  2. Term Revolver Loan. If the available balance is $0, funds will be advanced from account #3.
  3. Seasonal Loan (S02). If the available balance is $0, funds will be advanced from account #4.
  4. Seasonal Loan (S01). If the available balance is $0, CoBank Customer Service will be in contact with you to resolve funding for the daily settlement.

You may also click the 'Cancel' button or use the Menu or submenu options to navigate elsewhere in the system.

2. Set up New Rule Sets

From the Home page, click on the Account Management option on the main Menu. The Account History page will be displayed:

Click on Rule Sets on the submenu. The Rule Sets screen will be displayed:

Select the CIF/CIF name from the drop down and click on the 'New Rule set' button displayed. The New Rule Set screen will be displayed:

New Rule Sets will be enabled the next business day, or on a future effective date according to your instructions. Click on Calendar icon next to “Rule Set active As Of" and click on a date or enter the date manually in the field.

Move Funds To CoBank. This section dictates how funds will be automatically applied as a putdown/deposit to your CoBank relationship(s) when excess funds are available from the Cash Management daily settlement.

    Move Funds From CoBank. This section dictates how funds will be automatically advanced/withdrawn from your CoBank relationship(s) when funds are due to satisfy the Cash Management daily settlement.

    Click the 'Submit Rule Set' button. The system will display a screen verifying the details for the requested rule sets and then click on ' Send Rule set' button. The system will now display a confirm screen with a message at the top of the page if the rule set has been added. (If the request was not successful, the message will indicate the reason the request could not be accepted.)

    Click the 'Done' button. The system will display the Rule Sets page. The Active and Future Dated Rule Sets will be listed.

    On the appropriate effective date, the New Rule Sets will be automatically enabled, and the previous Rule Sets will become inactive.

    3. Modify Future Dated Rule Sets

    From the Home page, click on the Account Management option on the main Menu. The Account History page will be displayed:

    Click on Rule Sets on the submenu. The Rule Sets screen will be displayed: Select a CIF /CIF name and click on 'view ' button.

    Active and future dated Rule Sets will be displayed if any.

    Locate the Future Dated Rule Set. (Please note that only Future Dated Rule Sets may be modified.) Click on the 'pencil' icon on the right side of the screen under the action column to modify. The Modify Rule Set screen will be displayed:

    Modify the rule sets as appropriate.

    Click the 'Submit Rule Set' button. The system will display a screen verifying the details for the requested rule sets and then click on ' Send Rule set' button. The system will now display a confirm screen with a message at the top of the page if the rule set has been added. (If the request was not successful, the message will indicate the reason the request could not be accepted.)

    Click the 'Done' button. The system will display the Rule Sets page. The Active and Future Dated Rule Sets will be listed.

    On the appropriate effective date, the New Rule Sets will be automatically enabled, and the previous Rule Sets will become inactive.

    You may use the Menu or submenu options to navigate elsewhere in the system.

    4. Delete Future Dated Rule Sets

    From the Home page, click on the Account Management option on the main Menu. The Account History page will be displayed:

    Click on Rule Sets on the submenu. The Rule Sets screen will be displayed:Select a CIF /CIF name and click on 'view ' button.

    Active and future dated Rule Sets will be displayed if any.

    Locate the Future Dated Rule Set. (Please note that only Future Dated Rule Sets may be deleted. Also, if you delete future dated rule sets, you will not be able to set up new rule sets with the same future effective date. You do have the ability to modify future dated rule sets. See instructions for Modify Future Dated Rule Sets.)

    Click the radio button on the right side of the screen, and click the 'Modify' button. The Modify Rule Set screen will be displayed:

    Click the 'Delete' icon under the Action column. The system will display a confirm pop-up window with a message " Are you sure you want to delete this Rule Set? ". If you are sure, click on the 'delete' button on the same window(else click on" Cancel' button to stop deleting).  There will be a message displayed on the screen  as the Rule set has been deleted. (If the deletion request was not successful, the message will indicate the reason the request could not be accepted.).

    Click the 'Done' button. The system will display the Rule Sets page. The Active Rule Sets will be listed. the deleted Rule Set will not be shown on the Rule Set screen.
