Templates
1. Create a Wire Template
A Wire Template saves routing and payment instructions for a particular beneficiary. The wire template may then be used to create a templated wire. See instructions for “Create a Templated Wire Transaction.”
To create a wire template navigate from the Home page, by clicking on Payments & Transfers on the Main menu. The Wire Transfers page will be displayed:
Click on the 'Templates' button. The Wire Transfer Templates page will be displayed:
Choose Wire Type from the dropdown. Depending on your user permissions this field may be defaulted to Global Wires or Fed Wires or Book wires . Or you may have permissions for all types:
- Fed Wires are Domestic wire transfers directed to recognized bank ABA/Routing numbers within the Federal Reserve system.
- Global Wires are US dollar international wire transfers directed through recognized bank ABA/routing numbers within the Federal Reserve system, and may include SWIFT instructions for Intermediary and/or Beneficiary banks. Global Wires may also be used for Fed/Domestic wire transfers.
- Book Wires are transfers to other Cobank Customers. The funds remain within cobank. you will need to know the beneficiary's CIF(8-digit customer number) and account number(9-digit number)
Click on the 'New Template' button. The New Wire Transfer Template page will be displayed:
Choose Wire Type. Depending on your user permissions this field may be defaulted to Global Wires, Fed Wires or Book wires . Or you may have permissions for all types:
- Fed Wires are Domestic wire transfers directed to recognized bank ABA/Routing numbers within the Federal Reserve system.
- Global Wires are US dollar international wire transfers directed through recognized bank ABA/routing numbers within the Federal Reserve system, and may include SWIFT instructions for Intermediary and/or Beneficiary banks. Global Wires may also be used for Fed/Domestic wire transfers.
Template Nickname. Enter a nickname that will be meaningful to assist you in identifying this template in the list of all of your wire templates. For example you may choose to enter the name of the beneficiary (e.g. ABC Company).
Debit account. Select an appropriate CoBank account to be associated with this wire template. The debit account is required only for the purpose of saving the template. You will have the ability to select any appropriate debit account when creating a templated wire transaction (see “Create a Templated Wire Transaction”).
Beneficiary Name. Enter the name of beneficiary. The beneficiary will receive final credit for the wire. Either choose from the drop down list or create a new beneficiary.
Account Number. Enter the account number of the beneficiary.
Account Type. Select the appropriate account type of the beneficiary account from the drop down list. (Checking or Savings are the most common selections.)
Beneficiary Address, City, State and ZIP. Enter the address of the beneficiary.
Beneficiary Bank Info. The Beneficiary Bank will receive final credit for the wire and apply the funds to the Beneficiary.
- If you already know the Beneficiary Bank name and FED ABA number, you may key in the FED ABA in the appropriate field. The system will validate your entry details when saving the template.
- Or you may use the 'Search' button to retrieve/validate this information. To use the Search feature, click on the 'Search' button. The Bank Lookup screen will be displayed:
- Enter the appropriate data to search for the Beneficiary Bank using Name, City, State, ABA or a partial entry of any of these fields.
- Click the 'Search' button.
- Identify the bank on the list, and click on the bank name.
- Click the 'Insert Bank Info' button.
- The system will automatically populate the Beneficiary Bank Info fields on the New Wire Transfer Template page.
Add Intermediary Bank. This detail may or may not be required depending on the wire routing instructions. This detail is not required if the wire routing instructions include only the Beneficiary Bank.
- This detail will be required if one or more additional banks are needed to route the wire to the Beneficiary Bank. If additional banks are needed, click on the 'Add Intermediary Bank' button. The Bank Lookup screen will be displayed.
- Enter the appropriate data to search for the Intermediary Bank using Name, City, State, ABA or a partial entry of any of these fields.
- Click the 'Search' button.
- Identify the bank on the list, and click on the bank name.
- Click the 'Insert Bank Info' button.
- The system will automatically populate the Intermediary Bank Name and FED ABA on the New Wire Transfer Template page.
- If another Intermediary Bank is required, click on the 'Add Intermediary Bank' button again, and proceed with searching for the next Intermediary Bank as described above. When two Intermediary Banks are involved, the first Intermediary Bank displayed on the New Wire Transfer Template page will receive the funds direct from CoBank. The first Intermediary Bank will pass the transaction to the second Intermediary Bank. The second Intermediary Bank will pass the transaction to the Beneficiary Bank.
Reference for Beneficiary. Optional.
Originator to Beneficiary Information. Optional.
Bank to Bank Information. Optional.
By Order of Information. Optional.
Click the 'Save Template' button. The Wire Transfer Template Verify page will be displayed.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Continue' button. The Auto-Entitle Confirmation page will be displayed:
The radio button will be defaulted to 'Yes.' Click the 'Save' button. The Wire Transfer Template Confirm page will be displayed with a message at the top of the screen indicating that your wire template has been saved.
Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the 'Done' button. The Wire Transfer Templates page will be displayed:
The new wire template will be included on the Template List.
2. Delete a Wire Template
To delete a wire template navigate from the Home page, by clicking on Payments & Transfers on the Main menu. The Wire Transfers page will be displayed:
Click on the 'Templates' button. The Wire Transfer Templates page will be displayed:
Locate the template you want to delete on the Template List. On the right side of the screen locate and click on the 'Delete' icon. The Delete Wire Transfer Template pop-up window will be displayed:
The system will display the message: “Are you sure you want to delete the Wire transfer template?” Scroll to the bottom of the page, and click on the 'Delete Template' button. The Wire Transfer Templates page will be displayed:
The deleted template has been removed from the Template List.
3. Quick Search
Quick Search function allows you to list the templates by searching Template name or template nickname or Beneficiary name or any wire type.
